Lisa Ray's Plea to Air India

Actress Lisa Ray has taken to social media to express her disappointment with Air India, which allegedly rejected a medical waiver after she had to cancel her 92-year-old father's travel plans due to his declining health. On Wednesday, she voiced her concerns on the platform X, highlighting the lack of support from the airline despite providing all required documentation from her father's doctor.

In her post, she stated, "Here we go again @airindia. My father is 92, unwell, and I had to cancel travel due to his health issues. I submitted a doctor's letter, yet the waiver was denied. How can this happen? Where is the compassion from an airline that claims to prioritize passenger care?"

Following her complaint, Air India responded through their official account on X, which led Lisa to share a screenshot of the booking site. This image indicated that no medical waiver was available and noted that her father had been hospitalized. Lisa Ray, who has been candid about her own health challenges, including a multiple myeloma diagnosis in 2009, has emerged as a strong advocate for patient rights and healthcare awareness.

Her memoir, Close To The Bone, published in 2019, chronicles her battle with the rare bone marrow cancer, detailing her experience with a relapse after three years of being in remission.

Lisa began her career as a model in the early 1990s and made her acting debut in the 2001 film Kasoor. Recently, she was seen in the second season of the acclaimed Prime Video series Four More Shots Please!
