"But there can be loneliness and a yearning for adventure, purpose, or simply the thrill of the unknown."
Her character's journey is one of exploration and rebellion. As she becomes involved in the Matka world, she begins to grasp the significance of money—not merely as wealth but as a means of empowerment. This realization leads her to challenge societal norms. "For a traditional girl in the 60s, especially from a conservative Parsi background, engaging in gambling and working alongside men was frowned upon," Kritika explains. "Yet, she pursues it because it grants her independence and meaning."

Interestingly, Kritika observes that her life journey parallels her character's in reverse. Growing up in a small town in Madhya Pradesh, she transitioned through cities like Delhi before establishing herself in Mumbai. "My path has been about entering larger worlds," she states. "Her journey is about breaking free from a sheltered existence. In that regard, our arcs are completely opposite."
Kritika describes her collaboration with Vijay Varma as seamless, built on mutual respect and professionalism. "We didn’t need to break the ice or rehearse extensively. We were both in character from the outset, and everything flowed naturally," she shares.
Looking beyond Matka King, Kritika's career approach remains flexible and instinctual. She avoids rigid goals or specific genre pursuits, instead choosing to follow what excites her in the moment. "I don’t want to restrict my creativity with a checklist," she explains. While she remains tight-lipped about her next project, she hints at an independent film that will require a significant physical transformation. "I need to look strong, and I am training hard for it."

Despite her expanding professional horizons, Kritika stays grounded in simplicity in her personal life. Recently married, she describes the transition with humor and ease. "It feels the same," she laughs. "Sometimes I wake up and think—oh, I have a husband now." Her wedding was intimate and deeply personal, characterized by meaningful choices. For her special day, she opted for a custom saree from her label Cinnabar. Designed as a modern heirloom, the Chanderi weave featured a striking sindoor-red hue with minimal embellishments, allowing the fabric's texture to shine. Crafted from a blend of cotton and tussar silk and adorned with real silver zari, the saree embodied understated elegance. It was created by artisans and envisioned with her mother, holding emotional significance beyond mere bridal fashion.
