Kangana Ranaut Celebrates Friendship Day with Gen-Z Message Amid Controversy
Kangana's Friendship Day Message
On Sunday, Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to celebrate Friendship Day, sharing a message directed at her "Gen-Z friends." This comes shortly after her controversial "Generation Gutter" comment regarding young protesters sparked significant backlash online. In her Instagram Stories, the actress and BJP MP recounted a conversation at the gym with two young women who expressed that they were raised in the digital era, where social media, Instagram, dating applications, and AI are integral to their lives.
Ranaut replied that while individuals are free to live as they choose, it is essential to ensure that their actions do not harm others, stating, "as long as you don’t throw other children off the cliff, or cut them into many pieces." She concluded her message with a warm "Happy Friendship Day to my Gen-Z friends. Peace out."
This post follows her earlier remarks labeling young Hindu women protesting under the Cockroach Janta Party as part of the "Generation Gutter," amidst demonstrations concerning alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG paper leak, which ultimately led to the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Her comments received harsh criticism, with actor Sonu Sood describing them as "very shameful." Additionally, social media users revisited past videos of Ranaut dancing at parties and discussing her previous drug use, accusing her of being hypocritical.
Ranaut remains in the spotlight due to a separate public exchange with actor Hrithik Roshan, who responded to a viral post suggesting that the world owes him an apology amid their ongoing feud.
