Introduction to the New IRCTC Website

IRCTC's Beta Website Launch: Indian Railways is excited to announce a significant upgrade for train travelers. The beta version of the revamped IRCTC website will be accessible to the public starting tonight at 9:00 PM (21:00 hours).

Key Features and Improvements

This new platform has been developed following consultations between Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and students, aiming to enhance the ticket-booking experience for passengers. Let's explore the significant changes and advantages this digital portal will offer starting tonight.

Accessing the New Website

How to Access: From 9:00 PM tonight, users can visit the official link (https://www.irctc.co.in/eticket/) to explore the new version. Current users will also find a direct link on the homepage to transition to this beta version, where they can provide feedback and suggestions.

Enhanced User Experience

Removal of CAPTCHAs and Ads: Based on feedback from students, unnecessary CAPTCHAs and intrusive advertisements have been eliminated. Since its launch in 2002, the IRCTC website has managed an average of 1.45 million (14.5 lakh) ticket bookings daily. The redesign focuses on a cleaner, more user-friendly interface, incorporating valuable suggestions from students at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT).

Streamlined Booking Process

Improved Booking Features: The Railways has introduced four key enhancements in this trial version. Passengers can now view seat availability across all classes on a single screen, rather than checking each train separately. The booking process has been simplified, reducing the number of steps required, which allows for quicker payment and checkout. Re-booking tickets has also been made significantly easier.

In this updated system, once passenger details are entered, they will be saved for future bookings, eliminating the need to repeatedly input names and ages. This beta version is just the beginning, with a complete version expected to launch soon.
