Celebrating Cinema at IFFD 2026

The International Film Festival of Delhi (IFFD) 2026 recently held its Night of Honours event at Bharat Mandapam, where the spotlight shone on filmmakers and actors alike. Esteemed personalities such as Mohit Suri and Ramesh Sippy were among those recognized for their significant contributions to the film industry.


The event was graced by notable figures including Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, and Delhi's Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu.


Anupam Kher delivered a heartfelt poetic homage to the cinematic landscape of Delhi, reflecting on the rich theatre history of Mandi House and the evolution of Indian cinema. This was followed by a captivating performance from Grammy winner Ricky Kej.


During the Night of Honours, the film 'Saiyaara', directed by Mohit Suri, was awarded the title of Pathbreaking Film of the Year.


Additionally, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' was recognized as the Most Inspiring Film of the Year, with director RS Prasanna accepting the accolade. Anupam Kher received the award for Best Direction for 'Tanvi The Great', while Shubhangi Dutt was honored as the Best Debut Actor.


'Dhurandhar' was celebrated under the PVR Best of 2025 category, with Ranveer Singh taking home the Best Actor award and Aditya Dhar being named Best Director.


In the Capital's Pride segment, Guneet Monga, TP Aggarwal, and Divya Dutta were acknowledged, while Bhumi Pednekar was honored as the 'Actor with a Mission' for her initiatives with the United Nations Development Programme.


Bhumi Pednekar expressed her joy over the recognition through a heartfelt post on her Instagram account.


The festival's international appeal was highlighted by the presence of global figures like Enrique Arce, and a special tribute commemorating 50 years of 'Sholay' saw Ramesh Sippy celebrated for his lasting impact on Indian cinema.
