Understanding Kidney Stones
Kidney Care:
- Kidney stones can form in the kidneys, ureters, or bladder, causing severe pain. These stones develop from chemical substances found in urine, such as uric acid, phosphorus, calcium, and oxalic acid, with calcium oxalate being the primary component in about 90% of cases. The pain associated with kidney stones is often excruciating, leading to significant discomfort as the stone moves down from the kidney to the ureter and then to the bladder. Symptoms include painful urination, nausea, sweating, and chills, and sharp stones can cause blood in the urine. Patients may experience frequent, painful urination in small amounts.
- To diagnose the condition, an ultrasound is recommended. While specific herbal remedies can dissolve stones up to 30 mm, stones measuring 4-5 mm can often be treated with home remedies. Here are some effective solutions:
- 1.) Mix one tablespoon of basil leaf juice with honey and consume it early in the morning for 5-6 months to help expel small stones.
- 2) Drinking 200 ml of radish leaf juice twice daily can help eliminate kidney stones.
- 3) Boil two figs in a glass of water and drink it in the morning for a month.
- 4) Lemon juice has the ability to dissolve stones; consume the juice of one lemon in warm water once or twice a day.
- 5) Water is essential for flushing out toxins; aim to drink 4-5 liters in hot weather and 3-4 liters in cold weather.

- 10) Horse gram is beneficial for kidney health due to its high potassium and water content, while being low in sodium and albumin.
