A bland diet does not mean you have to eat bland or tasteless food. It is simply a diet that excludes all inflammatory foods that can irritate the lining of the intestine. Diet is mostly recommended to treat acidity, stomach ulcers and diarrhea. Additionally, people who have had bowel surgery will often be put on this diet to ease the recovery process (as greasy, salty and spicy foods can all make these conditions worse.
Easy bland diet recipe
Spaghetti and Tofu Balls
components
3 ounces of spaghetti
A large pot of water
3 ounces mashed tofu
1 tablespoon of flour
1 tablespoon of butter
1 egg
1 tablespoon of milk
½ teaspoon mixed herbs
cooking spray
3-4 teaspoons of salt
2 tablespoons grated American cheddar cheese
How to cook
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Mix the flour, salt and a pinch of mixed herbs with the mashed tofu.
- Shape the dough into small balls.
- Spray a baking tray with cooking spray.
- Place the tofu balls on a tray and spray with cooking spray.
- Bake them at 140 degrees Celsius for 10-15 minutes.
- Boil a large pot of water and add
- Add a spoonful of salt and olive oil.
- Add the spaghetti and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Drain the spaghetti and transfer it to a mixing bowl.
- Prepare the sauce by mixing eggs, milk, butter and mixed herbs.
- Cook it in a frying pan on high flame for a minute. Keep stirring.
- Pour the sauce over the spaghetti and mix well.
- Roll into baked tofu balls.
- Top it with grated American cheddar cheese.
