Bhubaneswar's Proactive Measures Against Dengue


Bhubaneswar: Following the early onset of the monsoon season, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the establishment of a specialized team to oversee and manage dengue cases within the city. Mayor Sulochana Das emphasized the importance of immediate action, stating that if a dengue case is confirmed, the affected individual's residence and nearby areas will receive focused attention. Residents experiencing fever are urged to seek medical advice and undergo blood testing without delay.


During the 31st General Council meeting held on Friday, Mayor Das highlighted the BMC's commitment to enhancing dengue awareness initiatives across the region. The campaign aims to boost public awareness and effectively reduce dengue incidences. The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Manjulata Kanhar, BMC Commissioner Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, chairpersons of all Standing Committees, corporators, and representatives from various departments, along with sub-divisional officers of the BMC. Blood sample testing for dengue is currently available at several facilities, including Capital Hospital, Patia Community Health Centre, IRC Village PHC, RMRC, and AIIMS.
