A New Star Emerges

MTV Roadies has recently crowned a new fan favorite, but it was the runner-up who truly captured the audience's admiration. Hartaajveer Singh Gill, a determined young man from Punjab, not only secured the runner-up title but also won the hearts of viewers across the nation.

Reflecting on his experience, he stated, "I may not have taken home the trophy, but I certainly won hearts." Social media has embraced him with titles like Immunity King and Mastermind of Roadies. Even Gautam Gulati, an actor and gang leader, praised him as "the hero of Roadies." Hartaaj's journey was characterized by loyalty and integrity rather than alliances or drama.

A Journey of Resilience

Hartaaj's rise to fame is rooted in years of hard work and perseverance. Coming from a farming background, his early life followed a conventional path—study diligently, secure a job, and play it safe. However, he felt a strong desire for something greater.

His journey began in 2017 during college when he participated in the Mr Punjabi competition. "People recognized my potential, but I didn't believe it until actor Kuljinder Sidhu encouraged me, saying, 'Hartaaj, I see you becoming a great actor one day.'"

Chasing Dreams in Mumbai

Convincing his family to support his acting aspirations was no easy feat. They believed acting was not a viable career choice. After a brief stint in a 9-to-5 job, Hartaaj realized it wasn't for him and left, determined to pursue his passion.

Upon moving to Mumbai, he faced numerous challenges. "I was told it would take five years to build connections, but I had only one year as per my parents' agreement." He encountered frequent rejections, with casting agents deeming him too Punjabi or lacking social media presence.

Finding His Breakthrough

His persistence eventually led to a breakthrough role in Pandya Store, which initially was a 10-day commitment but extended to five months. "That was a pivotal moment for me. I realized acting was not just a hobby; it was my passion," he shared.

He continued to evolve as an actor, landing a significant role in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan and training at Actor’s Truth under Saurabh Sachdeva, who transformed his approach to acting.

Reality Show Ambitions

Recognizing the need for visibility, Hartaaj decided to participate in a reality show to boost his fame. Roadies had always been a dream for him. After a failed attempt in 2018, he returned in 2024 with renewed determination.

Once selected, he was warned about being targeted from the start. "They told me I was too good to survive, but I proved them wrong. I relied on my strengths and played fair," he explained.

Future Aspirations

Post-Roadies, Hartaaj's life has become a whirlwind of shoots, interviews, and brand collaborations. "Previously, I worked just to get by. Now, I have the luxury of choosing my projects," he remarked. He has his eyes set on Bigg Boss, believing he would be a perfect fit.

Additionally, he is considering creating a reality show centered around fitness, infused with drama.

Staying True to Himself

Despite his newfound fame and opportunities, Hartaaj remains humble. "I don't try to represent Punjab; it's inherently part of me," he stated. His resilience and authenticity shine through, even in the face of criticism regarding his accent and appearance.

He firmly believes in embracing his identity, saying, "You wouldn't question a girl's makeup, so don't question my beard."
