Guru Randhawa's Commitment to Assam Flood Relief

Renowned Punjabi singer-songwriter Guru Randhawa is amplifying his humanitarian efforts in response to the Assam Flood Relief crisis. He has collaborated with the Sikh Aid Foundation to construct 35 durable, flood-resistant homes in the regions of Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Nepali Khuti in Upper Assam, contributing a generous donation of 7 lakh.

Randhawa is part of a significant group of public figures who have joined forces with Sikh organizations to address the challenges posed by the Assam floods. Notable personalities such as Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, actor Randeep Hooda, and digital influencers Fukra Insaan and Triggered Insaan are also involved, pooling their resources to enhance rehabilitation efforts in the most affected areas.

Previously, Randhawa made a personal donation of 5 lakh to the Hello Life Foundation, facilitated by digital creator Dimpu Baruah. This funding was aimed at providing immediate necessities such as food, clothing, and medical supplies to support displaced families. His latest initiative to construct elevated, climate-resilient homes signifies a shift towards ensuring long-term safety for local residents.

This initiative is a continuation of Randhawa’s dedication to humanitarian causes. During the severe floods in Punjab, he took proactive measures by establishing specialized relief camps in Dera Baba Nanak and Dharowali. His team financed the reconstruction of homes, supplied essential cattle feed, and distributed high-quality wheat seeds to farmers affected by the floods, helping them secure their agricultural futures. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he was among the first public figures to respond, donating 20 lakhs from his personal funds to the PM-CARES Fund to bolster critical healthcare infrastructure.
