George Clooney Set to Bring Back Ocean's Eleven with Original Cast
Reviving a Classic Heist Film
Renowned Hollywood actor and director George Clooney has announced his intention to breathe new life into the classic heist film, Ocean's Eleven, which first hit theaters in 2001. Clooney starred in the lead role alongside a star-studded cast that included Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle.
In addition to hinting at a fourth installment in the beloved franchise, Clooney expressed that the original cast is expected to return, albeit 'older, but wiser.' He remarked, 'The concept of being too old for our previous antics yet still clever enough to pull off a heist intrigues me. They may have slowed down, but they need to adapt to their new realities.'
The production team is currently scouting potential filming locations, with plans to commence shooting in October 2026.
Earlier this year, Clooney confirmed that Warner Bros. has greenlit the film's budget. He noted that the return of the original cast hinges on scheduling, stating, 'We just need to finalize a start date.' In the original Ocean's Eleven, Clooney portrayed the cunning mastermind Danny Ocean, with Brad Pitt as his loyal accomplice Rusty, Matt Damon as the skilled pickpocket Linus, Don Cheadle as the demolitions expert Basher, and Julia Roberts as Tess.
The film was followed by two sequels, Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen.
In 2018, a spin-off titled Ocean's 8 was released, featuring Sandra Bullock as Danny's sister, alongside a talented ensemble cast that included Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and Anne Hathaway.
In addition to the upcoming Ocean's Eleven film, a prequel is reportedly in the works, with Margot Robbie set to take the lead.
