This revered 10-day celebration will culminate with the immersion of the Ganpati idol (*Visarjan*) on Anant Chaturdashi. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi is observed on September 14, 2026, coinciding with Hartalika Teej. According to tradition, the installation of Lord Ganesha's idol should occur only after the immersion of the sand idol and the materials used in Hartalika Teej worship. Thus, this year's Ganeshotsav holds special religious significance.

Important Guidelines for Ganpati Installation and Worship
It is essential to avoid sighting the moon on Ganesh Chaturthi, as it is deemed inauspicious. Observers are advised not to look at the moon on September 14 between 09:12 AM and 08:58 PM, as it is believed to lead to false accusations or stigma (*Mithya Kalank*).
For worship, the new idol of Lord Ganesha should be placed on a wooden platform (*Chauki*) in the *Ishaan Kon* (northeast corner) or the eastern part of the home. Covering the platform with a clean red or yellow cloth is considered auspicious.
During the Ganpati worship, offerings should include *Durva* grass, red flowers (like hibiscus), *Akshat* (unbroken rice), and *Shami* leaves. It is also auspicious to offer *Modaks* or *Besan Laddoos* (gram flour sweets) to Lord Ganesha.
Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Rituals
After bathing in the morning, wear clean clothes and tidy the worship area. Sprinkle *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges) or pure water.
Spread a red or yellow cloth on a raised platform (*chowki*), place some *Akshat* (unbroken rice) on it, and install the idol of Lord Ganesha.
Light a *ghee* or oil lamp and focus on Lord Ganesha and your chosen deity (*Ishta Devta*).
Hold water, *Akshat*, and flowers in your hand, and take a solemn vow (*Sankalp*) for the happiness and prosperity of your family.
Meditate on Lord Ganesha and pray for the removal of obstacles and the success of the worship.
Invoke Lord Ganesha with the proper rituals while offering flowers and *Akshat*. Offer sandalwood paste, *Kumkum* (vermilion), *Akshat*, red flowers, and *Durva* grass to Him. Light incense and a lamp before Lord Ganesha and offer *Modaks*, *Laddoos*, fruits, or other *Sattvic* (pure) *Prasad* (sacred food offering). Chant "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah" during the worship, and you may also recite the *Ganesh Stotra* or *Atharvashirsha* with devotion.
Post-Worship Rituals
After completing the worship, perform the *Aarti* of Lord Ganesha with your family. Seek forgiveness for any mistakes made during the worship and pray for happiness and peace. Distribute the *Prasad* offered to the Lord among all family members with reverence.
