Final Phase of Noida International Airport Construction Underway
Noida International Airport Update
Noida International Airport: The construction of the Noida International Airport in Jewar has reached its concluding phase. The airport is set to be inaugurated on March 28, 2026, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi officiating the ceremony. Following the inauguration, commercial flight operations are anticipated to begin shortly. Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu indicated that flight services usually start within 45 days to two months after the aerodrome license is issued. Therefore, it is expected that flights from the Noida International Airport will commence soon after the official opening.
Advanced Technology at the Airport
An Airport Equipped with Modern Technology
The design of Noida Airport incorporates cutting-edge technology, including the ILS (Instrument Landing System) CAT-III. This system allows aircraft to land safely even in heavy fog, ensuring that flight operations can continue during adverse weather conditions. Currently, such technology is only available at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.
Airlines Set to Operate from Noida Airport
Airlines Expected to Launch Services
Reports suggest that three prominent airlines are preparing to commence operations from this airport in its initial phase:
- IndiGo
- Akasa Air
- Air India Express
The introduction of these airlines will enhance travel options for passengers, catering to both domestic and international routes.
Efficient Air Traffic Management
Handling 30 Flights Per Hour
The Noida Airport is designed for parallel runway operations, allowing for the efficient management of air traffic. It is expected to handle around 30 aircraft takeoffs and landings every hour, significantly improving connectivity and reducing travel times for travelers.
