Details of the 6-Day Trek
**6-Day 'Valley of Flowers' Trek**
This trek, taking place in August and September, spans six days and covers approximately 37 kilometers. The highest point reached is around 14,100 feet, and the trek is classified as 'easy to moderate' in difficulty.
**Comprehensive Trip Itinerary**
Your adventure kicks off at 6:00 AM from the Back Stage Hotel in Tapovan, Rishikesh. After a scenic 9 to 10-hour drive, you will arrive at Pipalkoti, located at an elevation of 1,340 meters. A cloakroom is available for storing any excess luggage.
The next day, you will drive to Govindghat and Pulna, where your trekking journey officially begins. You will trek 9 kilometers to reach Ghangaria, which will be your base for the following days.
Experience the Valley of Flowers
On the third day, the moment you've been anticipating arrives—exploring the Valley of Flowers. Here, you will encounter stunning flora, including the Himalayan Rose, Blue Poppy, Dog Flower, and River Anemone. The fourth day features a peaceful ascent to the revered Hemkund Sahib.
The return journey from Ghangaria occurs on the fifth day, and you will also have the chance to visit Badrinath Dham at no additional cost. You will be back in Rishikesh between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM on the sixth day.
Keep in mind that mountain weather can be unpredictable, so it's wise to include a buffer day in your plans. Schedule your return train or flight for after 8:00 PM on the sixth day.
Fitness Requirements for the Trek
**Mountains require fitness, not just enthusiasm**
This trek is open to individuals aged 9 and above, including first-time trekkers, as long as you meet the following criteria:
You should be able to jog 5 kilometers in 45 minutes or cycle 10 kilometers in 30 minutes.
You must be capable of carrying your own backpack weighing between 10 to 12 kg.
Your blood pressure, pulse, and breathing rate should be normal.
Those with asthma, heart conditions, high blood pressure, or diabetes should avoid this trek. Individuals with an abnormal BMI or sinus issues should consult a healthcare professional before booking.
