Eva Longoria's Upcoming Recognition

Eva Longoria, renowned for her role in 'Desperate Housewives', is poised to receive the prestigious Platino Award during the 12th Platino Awards ceremony, scheduled for April 27 at the Municipal Palace in Madrid.

This award celebrates Longoria's remarkable contributions to the audio-visual industry and her advocacy for the Latino community within the American entertainment sector. Although she began making guest appearances on US television in 2000, it was her portrayal of Gabrielle Solis in ABC's 'Desperate Housewives' in 2004 that catapulted her to fame.

Longoria's impressive resume includes roles in popular shows such as 'Empire', 'Devious Maids', 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', 'BoJack Horseman', and 'Jane the Virgin'. She later established her own production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.

In addition to acting, she has taken on various behind-the-scenes roles, including her work on the TV series 'Grand Hotel'. Longoria made her directorial debut in 2023 with 'Flamin' Hot', a biopic about Richard Montanez, who claims to have invented Flamin' Hot Cheetos.

The film became Searchlight Pictures' most-watched streaming release and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song for 'The Fire Inside', penned by Diane Warren and performed by Becky G. Notably, the film was also screened at the White House with President Joe Biden in attendance.

With this upcoming award, Longoria follows in the footsteps of Cecilia Roth, the previous recipient, and joins a distinguished list of past honorees from the Ibero-American community, including Benicio del Toro (2023), Carmen Maura (2022), Diego Luna (2021), Jose Sacristan (2020), and Raphael (2019).
