Essential Remedies for Pithori Amavasya 2026
Understanding Pithori Amavasya
Pithori Amavasya 2026 Remedies: This significant day is marked by the new moon (Amavasya) during the Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. It is also referred to as Kushotpatini or Kushagrahani Amavasya, as it is the time when *Kusha* grass is harvested and set aside for various rituals throughout the year. Engaging in ceremonies on this day can honor your ancestors, helping to mitigate *Pitra Dosh* (ancestral issues) and facilitate personal growth, which is often hindered by such afflictions.

Remedies for Pithori Amavasya
On this day, individuals can seek to liberate their ancestors by visiting the *Pishach Mochan Kund* in Kashi (Varanasi), a city revered for its connection to Lord Shiva. Rituals conducted at this sacred *Kund* are believed to resolve ancestral debts and free wandering souls. This holy site is mentioned in the *Kashi Khand* of the *Garuda Purana*.
As stated in the *Bhagavad Gita*, the soul is eternal and cannot be destroyed. However, souls that experience premature death may roam aimlessly. In Kashi, these souls can achieve *Moksha* (liberation).
To address *Pitra Dosh* and seek liberation for your ancestors, visiting *Pishach Mochan Kund* on Pithori Amavasya is highly recommended. Performing *Tripindi Shraddha* and *Tarpan* (offering water to ancestors) at this location is particularly beneficial.
If a visit to *Pishach Mochan Kund* is not feasible, consider taking a holy bath in the morning when the Amavasya *tithi* begins. While remembering your ancestors, offer them water using *Kusha* grass and perform *Tarpan*. The water offered in this manner reaches the ancestors, who, upon receiving it, may grant their blessings.
In addition to *Tarpan*, performing *Pind Daan* and *Shraddha* rituals can bring peace to the ancestors. Donating white clothing and food grains while keeping them in mind also aids in alleviating *Pitra Dosh*.
On Pithori Amavasya, it is customary to worship the Peepal tree by offering water to it. Lighting an oil lamp beneath the tree in the evening is believed to please your ancestors.
