Birdwatcher Shyam Bhagra noted that this season has seen a significant rise in migratory bird populations at Okhla, a welcome change after a few years of low numbers. The timely cleaning of the lake is believed to be a key factor in attracting these birds. Their stunning beauty draws tourists from far and wide.

Visitors to Okhla Bird Sanctuary can expect to see a variety of species, including the Greylag Goose, Bar-headed Goose, Pochard, Red-crested Pochard, Teal, Northern Pintail, Northern Shoveler, Garganey, and Greater White-fronted Goose.

The sanctuary is open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a nominal entry fee for both Indian and foreign visitors. The closest metro station is 'Okhla Bird Sanctuary' on the Magenta Line.
