Dhanteras 2026: Auspicious Shopping Times and Traditions
Dhanteras 2026 Shopping Muhurat
Dhanteras 2026 Shopping Muhurat: The festive season of Diwali kicks off with Dhanteras, a day dedicated to honoring Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. It is a tradition to buy gold and silver on this day, as it is considered highly auspicious. In addition to precious metals, many also purchase vehicles, kitchenware, and other necessary items. While Dhan Trayodashi is known for its favorable shopping opportunities, making purchases at specific times can enhance the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.
Auspicious Timing for Gold and Silver Purchases
Astrologer Swami Kanhaiya Maharaj from Kashi highlights that the 'Pradosh Kaal' is the prime time for buying gold and silver on Dhanteras. This year, on November 6, the Pradosh Kaal will occur from 5:33 PM to 8:05 PM. The most favorable window for purchases is between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, making it an ideal time for acquiring gold and silver jewelry, utensils, and more.
Optimal Times for Vehicle Purchases
Auspicious Timing for Shopping
For those looking to buy a vehicle on Dhanteras, the best time is between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This period includes the 'Abhijit Muhurat,' which is considered particularly significant. According to the Vedic calendar, the Abhijit Muhurat on November 6 is from 11:44 AM to 12:32 PM, a time deemed very auspicious.
Best Time for Buying Utensils and Appliances
Best Time for Purchasing Electrical Goods
If you plan to purchase utensils made of steel, brass, or copper, the most favorable time is between 3:01 PM and 6:00 PM. This timeframe aligns with a 'Sthir Lagna' (stable ascendant), which is believed to attract prosperity and Goddess Lakshmi's blessings into your home. During this period, you can also buy electrical appliances along with your utensils. Therefore, if you're considering shopping on Dhanteras, this is the most auspicious time to do so.
Avoiding Inauspicious Times
Avoid shopping during Rahu Kaal.
Astrologer Swami Kanhaiya Maharaj advises against making any purchases during Rahu Kaal on Dhanteras. On November 6, Rahu Kaal will take place from 10:30 AM to 11:40 AM, and it is best to refrain from shopping during this time.
