Create Your Own Peanut Barfi at Home

As concerns about adulterated sweets grow, many are turning to dry fruits as a safer option. Why not try making a healthy sweet treat at home instead?

Today, we present a delightful recipe for 'Peanut Barfi' that is sure to impress your guests. This sweet delicacy melts in your mouth and has a flavor reminiscent of *Kaju Katli* (cashew fudge). The best part? It’s quick and inexpensive to make.

**Ingredients for Peanut Barfi**
To whip up this tasty treat, gather the following ingredients:

Raw peanuts – 2 cups
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – ½ cup
Desi ghee (clarified butter) – 2 to 3 tablespoons
Cardamom powder – ½ teaspoon
Milk powder – 2 tablespoons (optional, for added flavor)

**Simple Steps to Prepare Peanut Barfi**
Start by roasting the raw peanuts in a pan over low heat. Be careful not to burn them; the goal is to eliminate their raw flavor.
Once roasted, allow the peanuts to cool. Rub them between your palms to remove the skins. Next, place the peeled peanuts in a mixer and grind them into a fine powder, pulsing as needed.

In another pan, mix the sugar and water, and heat it on the stove. Cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches a 'one-string' consistency syrup.
Lower the heat and add the peanut powder to the syrup, along with the milk powder and cardamom powder. Stir continuously to avoid lumps.

When the mixture starts to pull away from the sides of the pan, add the desi ghee. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, then turn off the heat. Grease a plate or tray with a bit of ghee. Pour the mixture onto the tray and spread it evenly with a spoon.

Let it cool for several hours. Once the barfi has set, cut it into your preferred shapes. Enjoy your homemade, melt-in-the-mouth peanut barfi!
