A Quick and Healthy School Tiffin Idea
Amid the busy mornings, finding a nutritious and appealing school lunch for kids can be quite a task. A Paneer Wrap stands out as a fantastic choice; packed with protein and visually enticing, it’s sure to be a hit with children.
Paneer not only supports the growth of children's bones but when paired with vegetables, it provides essential vitamins as well. Let’s explore how to make this quick and tasty Paneer Wrap.
**Ingredients**
**For the Wraps:** 2 whole wheat rotis (flatbreads) or parathas
**For the Paneer Filling:** 150g paneer (cut into small cubes), 1 finely chopped onion, 1 finely chopped capsicum (bell pepper), and a bit of grated carrot
**Spices:** ½ teaspoon ginger-garlic paste, salt to taste, ½ teaspoon red chili powder, and ½ teaspoon garam masala
**Sauces:** 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup, and a dash of green chutney
**Others:** A bit of butter or oil, and finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.
**Preparation Method**
Begin by heating some oil or butter in a pan. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a moment. Then, incorporate the chopped onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
Next, add the capsicum and carrot, sautéing on high heat for about 2 minutes. Add the paneer cubes along with all the dry spices; toss everything together for 2–3 minutes. Finally, mix in the fresh coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
If you have leftover rotis from the previous night, warm them on a griddle (tava) with a bit of ghee; however, freshly made rotis are preferable. Whole wheat rotis are a healthier choice for children compared to those made with refined flour (maida).
Now, take a roti and place it on a plate. Spread mayonnaise down the center on one side and tomato ketchup on the other. Add the prepared paneer filling in the middle, arranging it in a line. If your child likes spicy flavors, feel free to add a touch of green chutney.
Fold in both sides of the roti and roll it up tightly. Add a small amount of butter to a griddle (tava) and cook the wrap on both sides until it turns light golden and crispy. Your Paneer Wrap is now ready to serve.
