Rituals for Rishi Panchami Worship

On Rishi Panchami, devotees begin their day with a morning bath and then offer Arghya to the Sun God. They take a Sankalp, a solemn vow to observe the fast earnestly. A clean cloth is placed on a raised platform, where the idols of the Saptarishis are installed.

Devotees bathe the sages with water and Panchamrit, followed by offerings of sandalwood paste, turmeric, kumkum, akshat, yellow flowers, and Durva grass. After lighting a lamp with desi ghee, they perform Aarti and recite the Vrat Katha, the narrative of the Rishi Panchami fast. Ritual food offerings, including fruits and sweets, are presented, and donations of food grains and money are made to Brahmins.
