How to Prepare Tricolor Paratha

Tricolor Paratha Recipe: Every year, January 26th marks India's Republic Day, a day of immense pride for the nation, commemorating its transition to a republic. Citizens celebrate this significant occasion in various creative ways.

To enhance the festivities, consider making Tricolor Paratha, which embodies the colors of the Indian flag—saffron, white, and green—making it both visually striking and tasty.

This dish is simple to prepare at home and can be a delightful addition to your children's lunchboxes. It serves as a nutritious, patriotic breakfast, ensuring a wonderful start to the day for the entire family.

Ingredients Needed:
Wheat flour
Carrots (for saffron hue)
Spinach (for green hue)
Yogurt
Salt
Ghee
Water

Preparation Steps:

Begin by creating purées of carrots and spinach.
Cook the carrots thoroughly or blend raw carrots to form a purée.
Likewise, boil and blend the spinach to create its purée.
In one bowl, mix the carrot purée with the flour and knead it well.
In another bowl, combine the spinach purée with the flour and knead.
Prepare a plain dough for the white section of the paratha.

You will now have three distinct doughs: carrot (saffron), spinach (green), and plain (white).
Take equal portions from each dough, combine them, and roll them out into the shape of a paratha.
This combination will resemble the Indian tricolor flag.

Next, heat a griddle and cook the Tricolor Paratha until golden brown on both sides.
Once cooked, remove it from the heat and brush with ghee.
Serve this delightful Tricolor Paratha alongside pickle and yogurt.
This dish adds a special touch to Republic Day celebrations for both children and the family.
