The Bollywood scene is currently experiencing fresh turmoil following the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announcing a non-cooperation stance against Ranveer Singh. The Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) had referred the issue to FWICE after complaints from Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani.
The third installment of the 'Don' series had been in the works for nearly three years, with Singh set to lead the project. Producers revealed that over Rs 45 crore had already been invested in pre-production before Singh's sudden departure just weeks before filming was set to commence.
FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit claimed that Singh pulled out of the film only three weeks prior to the start date. Pandit noted that Singh later communicated via email that FWICE was not relevant to the dispute.
In a statement from his spokesperson, Singh expressed his ongoing respect for everyone involved with the franchise and emphasized that professional disagreements should be approached with dignity and mutual respect.

On Tuesday, Ranveer Singh visited the Chamundeshwari temple in Mysuru to offer prayers. This visit follows a directive from the Karnataka High Court, which recently dismissed legal proceedings against him related to his mimicry of the deity's portrayal in the film 'Kantara 1'. The court's ruling came after Singh issued an unconditional apology, and it accepted a revised affidavit from his lawyer, instructing him to visit the Chamundi deity to make amends for his actions. This controversy stemmed from comments made by Singh during the Filmfare Awards in Goa regarding the film 'Kantara'.
