Jagat Prakash Nadda, the national president of the BJP and Union Health Minister, has emerged as a role model in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative against obesity.

Nadda, hailing from Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh, shared during a discussion on a national news platform that he took PM Modi’s campaign to heart and has successfully shed 18 kg.

The Prime Minister recently initiated a nationwide effort to combat obesity, appointing ten prominent figures to spearhead the movement. This campaign focuses on reducing oil intake in meals by at least 10% and raising awareness about lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart conditions.

During the summit, Nadda emphasized that obesity is a pressing global issue that necessitates deliberate lifestyle adjustments. He recounted his personal experience, detailing the straightforward strategies he adopted: skipping dinner, avoiding the dining table post-work, and opting for black coffee or water when hunger struck.

“You can see a noticeable difference in just 10 days,” Nadda remarked, noting that these minor adjustments not only facilitate weight loss but also enhance overall well-being.

He also stressed the significance of mental health, highlighting advancements made through the Tele-MANAS digital counseling initiative. This program currently links individuals with 23 monitoring institutions and five coordinating centers, ensuring easy access to mental health support.

Through his personal journey, JP Nadda has brought attention to the critical issue of obesity and reinforced the Prime Minister’s call for a healthier lifestyle to foster a stronger nation.
