Asin Thottumkal, known for her role in Aamir Khan's blockbuster 'Ghajini', is currently taking a break from the film scene. She recently celebrated her 41st birthday on October 26. Asin is dedicated to nurturing her daughter, Arin Rayn Sharma. Her husband, Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax, shared in an interview that they have intentionally kept their daughter away from screens, including television and mobile devices. Instead, they prioritize reading in their household.
1. Avoiding Screen Time for Their Daughter
In today's world, many young children are often glued to screens, whether for watching videos or gaming. However, Asin and Rahul have opted for a different strategy for their daughter. In a discussion with MyGov India, Rahul revealed that they have not introduced her to television or mobile devices. They believe in encouraging children to read and engage in various activities instead.
2. A Home Filled with Books
Rahul mentioned that their home boasts an impressive collection of books, possibly exceeding the number found in their daughter's school. Despite Arin being in second grade, their library includes books meant for eighth and ninth graders. Rahul humorously noted that with such a wealth of reading material, they might as well prepare her for tenth-grade exams! This reflects the family's strong emphasis on education and learning.
3. Interest in Multiple Languages
During the interview, Rahul revealed that Arin has shown interest in around 12 languages, including Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese, which even surprised him. Engaging children with stories, books, and new languages can greatly enhance their learning experiences, allowing them to explore and grasp new ideas.

Rahul described Asin as a crucial support system in his life, especially during challenging times. He commended her significant role in their daughter's upbringing. Since marrying Rahul in 2016 and welcoming Arin in October 2017, Asin has chosen to step back from her acting career to focus on her family.
