AR Rahman Laughs Off Controversy Surrounding Main Vaapas Aaunga
AR Rahman Responds to Film Criticism
Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman has weighed in on the ongoing social media discourse regarding Imtiaz Ali's new film, Main Vaapas Aaunga. He dismissed the backlash labeling the movie as ‘anti-national’ with a humorous emoji on Instagram.
The film has been gaining traction at the box office, largely due to favorable reviews, but it recently sparked debate online as some users criticized its depiction of Pakistan.
On Wednesday, Rahman reacted to a satirical Instagram post that poked fun at the accusations of the film promoting an ‘anti-national’ agenda by sharing it on his Instagram Stories, accompanied by a laughing emoji.
The post featured the headline: “Anti-National? Movie dares to show Pakistan without terrorists and secret agents.” Rahman's response highlighted his amusement at the situation.
Main Vaapas Aaunga is the fifth project where Rahman collaborates with director Imtiaz Ali, following successful films like Highway, Rockstar, Tamasha, and Amar Singh Chamkila. For this soundtrack, he has teamed up once again with lyricist Irshad Kamil.
