AR Rahman and Diljit Dosanjh Unite Again for 'Kya Kamaal Hai' in Main Vaapas Aaunga
A New Musical Collaboration
Two years after their successful project Amar Singh Chamkila, a stellar team comprising AR Rahman, Diljit Dosanjh, Imtiaz Ali, and Irshad Kamil is set to create another musical hit with their upcoming film, Main Vaapas Aaunga.
In response to the enthusiastic reception of the teaser, Imtiaz has released the film's song titled Kya Kamaal Hai, marking the much-anticipated musical partnership between Diljit and Rahman. Music has always played a pivotal role in Imtiaz Ali's films, serving as the emotional backbone of his narratives. This new track combines Diljit's expressive vocals, Rahman's timeless melodies, and Kamil's heartfelt lyrics.
Kya Kamaal Hai is described as a ‘song of hope,’ celebrating the essence of human connection during challenging times. It draws inspiration from the enduring love that persisted even amidst the turmoil of the Partition era. In today's chaotic world, the song serves as a reminder of the beauty surrounding us, where love flourishes, joy surpasses sadness, and unity transcends all barriers, offering both gentleness and strength.
Diljit shared, “Kya Kamaal Hai holds a special place in my heart. There’s an authenticity to this song that encourages you to pause and truly feel without any pretense. Collaborating with Imtiaz Ali is always a unique experience because his storytelling feels genuine and relatable. Working with the legendary AR Rahman is a privilege; it never feels like work. Irshad Kamil's lyrics resonate deeply, coming straight from the heart. In a world filled with chaos, this song brings a sense of calm, urging you to slow down, breathe, and embrace the moment.” Rahman added, “Collaborating with Imtiaz and Irshad feels like continuing an ongoing dialogue. With Diljit, we reflected the world depicted in the script. Our previous collaboration on Chamkila laid the groundwork for a more direct musical partnership this time.”
