Exciting New Venture for Akshay Kumar

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is collaborating with producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah for his forthcoming movie, 'Samuk.' This film is touted to be India's largest alien-themed action spectacle, co-produced by Aashin A Shah, and is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027. Kumar expressed his enthusiasm for exploring this new genre, stating, "I have officially signed on for this project. The script and concept of 'Samuk' captivated me. An alien thriller is a completely fresh genre for both myself and Indian cinema, and I am thrilled about it."

The production team aims to elevate Indian commercial cinema by venturing into uncharted genre territory, merging realistic action narratives with practical effects and sophisticated visual storytelling. The film intends to fuse elements of survival horror with an alien thriller on a global scale. Shah remarked, "We consistently strive to push our boundaries with diverse genres, and 'Samuk' is a venture that Indian cinema has yet to explore. Our goal is to craft a world-class alien thriller for viewers." The film will be helmed by director Kanishk Varma.

Varma shared that his inspiration for the project stemmed from his admiration for elite security forces and classic sci-fi horror films. He noted, "'Samuk' emerged from my passion for the SPG world and survival thrillers like 'Alien' and 'Predator.' Collaborating with Akshay sir has been a surreal experience... I always envisioned the creature to have a tangible presence on set. That classic tactile horror is what rendered films like 'Alien' timeless," he explained.

The film also boasts a prominent international technical crew from Hollywood's franchise filmmaking scene. Renowned creature effects designer Alec Gillis has joined the team to conceptualize and create the alien creature featured in the film. Additionally, the action sequences will be coordinated by British stunt expert Luke Tumber.
