Ajay Devgn's Television Debut as Crime Patrol Host

Ajay Devgn is poised to make his debut on television as the new face of Crime Patrol, taking over from Anup Soni, who has been a staple of the popular Sony TV crime series. The upcoming season, named Crime Patrol 2026: Crime Ka Current Season, is set to launch on August 31.

The Drishyam star announced his role in the series by posting a teaser on Instagram, cautioning viewers that the perpetrator of a crime may not always be a stranger. He states in the promo, "In many instances today, the offender is someone familiar to you," and emphasizes that the new season will showcase cases that have left a significant impact on the nation. "This isn't meant to frighten you, but to enlighten you," he adds.

Having already filmed 15 episodes, Devgn's continuation on the show will hinge on audience feedback and ratings. Additionally, Mirzapur actor Rajesh Tailang will co-host several episodes this season, with his participation also reliant on viewer reception of the new format.

Devgn joins a prestigious list of Bollywood celebrities who have transitioned to television hosting, following in the footsteps of Amitabh Bachchan with Kaun Banega Crorepati and Salman Khan with Bigg Boss. His involvement in Crime Patrol aligns perfectly with his previous portrayals of law enforcement roles in films like Gangaajal, Singham, and Drishyam.

Since its debut on Sony TV in 2003, Crime Patrol has aired nine seasons and nearly 2,100 episodes, establishing itself as one of the longest-running crime shows in Indian television history.
