Intense Preparation for a Patriotic Role

Amid the excitement surrounding the teaser for the highly awaited film 'Border 2', actor Ahan Shetty has opened up about the rigorous physical training and military-style preparation he undertook for his character. Portraying a Navy officer, Shetty described the process as both challenging and transformative.

On-Site Training Experience

Shetty reflected on his time filming at authentic military sites, particularly at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, Pune, which significantly influenced his portrayal. He stated, “Filming at NDA Khadakwasla wasn’t merely about achieving realistic visuals; it reshaped my entire approach to the character. Training in a place where real officers prepare demands authenticity in every aspect—your body language, posture, and intensity must align with the environment.”

Strict Training Regimen

His preparation adhered to a rigorous and consistent schedule, regardless of the filming locations, which included Pune, Amritsar, Khopoli, and Mumbai. “My routine remained unchanged across different sites. It was essential to include strength training, sports like football and cricket for agility and cardiovascular fitness, along with a strict recovery regimen featuring ice baths, steam sessions, saunas, and red light therapy,” he explained.

Shetty emphasized the importance of recovery, stating, “Recovery was not optional; it was as vital as the training itself. When filming intense combat scenes day after day, your body requires time to heal and perform effectively.”

Challenges of Filming in Real Military Settings

The actor also discussed the unique challenges of shooting at active military sites, where the environment itself tested his endurance. “Filming in real military settings presented genuine physical challenges,” Shetty noted. “You contend with actual terrain, weather conditions, and the demands of tactical sequences. Everything converges when filming combat scenes in extreme heat or while wearing tactical gear for long hours.”

Portraying a War-Ready Character

In 'Border 2', Shetty embodies a Navy officer, with the first-look poster showcasing him in a high-stakes war environment, blood on his face, eyes filled with determination, and a heavy weapon in hand, highlighting the film's intensity and scale.
