EAM Jaishankar's Diplomatic Mission to Israel
Jerusalem: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to arrive in Israel on Tuesday for discussions with the nation's leadership regarding various bilateral and regional matters, as per insider information.
During his brief visit, Jaishankar is scheduled to engage with President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and will also hold talks with his Israeli counterpart, Gideon Sa'ar.
Sources indicate that the focus of these discussions will be on enhancing the strategic partnership between India and Israel, addressing both bilateral and regional challenges.
This visit follows a recent conversation between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where both leaders expressed their intention to meet soon.
Earlier this year, several Israeli ministers, including those for Tourism, Economy, Agriculture, and Finance, visited India to strengthen ties as both nations work towards finalizing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
A Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) was established during Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's visit, and a Terms of Reference (TOR) for the FTA was signed during Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal's recent trip to Israel.
