Virat Kohli's 2011 Reported Account Finally Suspended on X

Conclusion of a Long-Standing Case

A case that originated in 2011 has reached its resolution. The social media account that Indian cricketer Virat Kohli flagged for inappropriate language has now been suspended by X, formerly known as Twitter.

This incident traces back to December 2011 when Kohli responded to a user who had insulted him. Through his official account, he stated: "@ishaan3 your account has been reported and will be deactivated shortly. Don't tweet if you want to use abusive words."

Despite Kohli's report, the account remained active for over a decade. A few years later, the same user mocked Kohli by referencing the old tweet, saying, "10 saal ho gaye Kohli bhai." (It's been 10 years, bro), implying that no action had been taken against him.

Now, after 13 years, X has finally taken action and suspended the account. The reasons for the delay have not been disclosed, but users have confirmed that the profile is no longer accessible.

Kohli Celebrates IPL 2025 Success

Following a triumphant season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where he not only excelled with the bat but also led his team to victory after 18 years, Virat Kohli has traveled to London with his family.

Currently, the Indian cricket team is in the UK for a five-match Test series against England. However, Kohli will not participate, as he had previously announced his retirement from Test cricket during IPL 2025.

With his retirement from both T20Is and Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs) remain the only format where fans can still see him play. India's upcoming ODI series is set against Bangladesh in August, and both Kohli and Rohit Sharma are anticipated to be included in the squad for the away matches.
