On Saturday afternoon, more than 20 individuals sustained injuries when a vehicle collided with a crowd during the Lao New Year festivities in New Iberia, Louisiana. According to reports, the incident occurred around 2:40 PM during the Louisiana Lao New Year Festival, prompting immediate action from emergency responders.


The vehicle drove into a gathering near Captain Cade and Melancon Road, impacting several attendees. Acadian Ambulance Service confirmed that those injured were transported to local hospitals, with at least four individuals reported to be in critical condition. Others received on-site treatment for less severe injuries.
