Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Makes History as Youngest Indian Cricketer
Historic Debut for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal extended his congratulations to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for becoming the youngest international cricketer from India. Lal emphasized that Sooryavanshi's impressive performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) were key to his selection.
Acknowledging the challenges of international cricket, Lal expressed his hopes for Sooryavanshi to evolve into a remarkable player akin to legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, inspiring fans along the way.
At just 15 years and 99 days, Sooryavanshi made history by being the youngest player to represent India in all formats and the youngest debutant from a Test-playing nation in T20I history. He debuted in the second T20I against England in Manchester.
Madan Lal's Encouraging Words
"I want to congratulate him for breaking Sachin's record with such a young debut. His IPL performances made it clear he was destined for this level. However, international cricket demands more experience, and the game’s standards are higher. I wish him all the best and hope he becomes a player like Virat or Sachin, someone who captivates audiences," Lal remarked.
A Memorable Start
Sooryavanshi kicked off his international career with an exciting performance, scoring 14 runs off 10 balls, including two sixes, before being stumped by Will Jacks.
Coach Manish Ojha's Pride
Manish Ojha, Sooryavanshi's childhood coach, described the debut as a proud and emotional occasion. He attributed the teenager's success to his dedication and consistent performances.
Ojha expressed confidence that Sooryavanshi would prove himself on the international stage, just as he did in the IPL and Under-19 World Cup. He hopes the young player enjoys a long career and contributes significantly to India's success.
"Today marks a proud moment for me as a coach. After all his hard work, seeing Vaibhav selected for Team India and getting the chance to play is a great opportunity for him to showcase his talent. He has a bright future ahead in cricket, and I wish him well in helping India win many matches," Ojha stated.
