US Blockade in Gulf of Oman Costs Iran Billions in Oil Revenue
Significant Financial Losses for Iran Due to US Actions
According to a report by Axios, a blockade enforced by the United States across the Gulf of Oman and adjacent maritime routes has resulted in an estimated loss of $4.8 billion in oil revenue for Iran. Pentagon evaluations indicate that Iran has faced nearly $5 billion in lost oil income due to disruptions caused by US enforcement operations in the area, which are aimed at curbing sanctioned maritime trade and energy exports.
Sean Parnell, serving as Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesman, highlighted the report, quoting Acting Pentagon Press Secretary Joel Valdez. Valdez stated that the US operation aims to exert continuous economic pressure on Tehran. In a post on X, Parnell referenced Valdez's comments, noting, "The United States' blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is operating with full force and delivering the decisive impact we intended." He further emphasized, "We are inflicting a devastating blow to the Iranian regime's ability to fund terrorism and regional destabilization. Our Armed Forces in the region will continue to maintain this unrelenting pressure."

In a recent statement, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent referred to the Iranian leadership as "rats in a sewer pipe," asserting that they are oblivious to the realities on the ground and that the international community has turned against them.
US Asserts Dominance Over Strait of Hormuz
US claims complete control over Hormuz
Bessent claimed that the US has full control over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil passage, stating that the blockade will persist until 'Freedom of Navigation' is restored to the conditions prior to February 27. He remarked, "It is very difficult for rats in a sewer pipe to know what's going on in the outside world. Some color for the Iranian Leadership as they literally sit in the dark: 1. The United States has complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. 2. There is a hard currency, i.e. U.S. dollar, shortage. 3. Food and gasoline rationing are in place. 4. The entire international community has turned against you. 5. The BLOCKADE will continue, until there is pre-February 27 Freedom of Navigation," Bessent wrote on X, responding to a report indicating that the US Navy's blockade has disrupted Tehran's regional strategy.
In response to Bessent's comments, the Iranian Embassy in South Africa stated, "Everyone knows that you and your pedophile boss lost the war, and those pathetic noises you make come from pain, not victory. You lost both on the battlefield and in cyberspace. Idiot." The US initiated a naval blockade against Iran on April 13 following unsuccessful talks in Islamabad aimed at resolving the conflict.
