How to Play NYT Connections

In NYT Connections, players receive a grid filled with words and must identify the hidden connections among them. Consider synonyms, antonyms, and word families to solve the puzzle. If you encounter difficulties, hints are available within the game. You can also track your daily progress and challenge friends to see who can solve the most puzzles.

A new puzzle is released daily at midnight, accessible via the NYT website or app. Your task is to organize 16 words into four groups of four based on their connections. These groups can include clickable items, names of research participants, or words associated with body parts.

Each puzzle has a single solution, so be cautious of words that may fit into multiple categories. You can rearrange words to discover their connections.

The groups are color-coded: yellow is typically the easiest, blue and green are moderate, while purple often involves wordplay.

Select four words that you believe belong together and click ‘Submit.’ Incorrect guesses will cost you a life, but if you're close to forming a correct group, you might receive a hint indicating you're just one word away from success. However, if you make four mistakes, the game ends.
