A Historic Moment for India

Washington: President Donald Trump has extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his "historic and decisive" victory in the recent elections, as reported by a spokesperson from the White House on Tuesday.

During a phone conversation last month, President Trump conveyed his admiration for Modi, expressing how fortunate India is to have him as its leader, according to White House Spokesman Kush Desai.

Desai stated, "The President congratulates Prime Minister Modi on this recent, historic, and decisive election victory."

On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made history by achieving a two-thirds majority in the West Bengal assembly elections, effectively ending Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's 15-year tenure. Additionally, the party secured a third consecutive term in Assam.
