Trump Mobile's T1 Phone Faces Scrutiny Over Manufacturing Claims
Introduction to the T1 Phone
After several months of delays, Trump Mobile's highly anticipated T1 Phone is finally ready to ship. However, concerns regarding the smartphone's manufacturing origins are intensifying. The gold-colored device, which was first introduced in June 2025, has attracted attention online due to its striking resemblance to the REVVL 7 Pro 5G, a smartphone reportedly produced by the Chinese firm Wingtech.
Shipping Details and Specifications
Pat O’Brien, the CEO of Trump Mobile, announced that pre-orders for the T1 Phone will start shipping this week, although specific delivery dates are still unclear. The company asserts that the device is assembled in the United States, yet critics have noted significant similarities between the T1's features and those of the REVVL 7 Pro 5G.
The T1 Phone boasts the following specifications:
- A 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate
- A 5000mAh battery
- Fingerprint sensor
- AI face unlock
- A 50MP main camera setup
Many of these specifications closely mirror those of the REVVL 7 Pro 5G, which was launched in June 2024 and is available at a significantly lower price point.
Changes in Manufacturing Claims
Trump Mobile Adjusts 'Made in America' Messaging
Initially, Trump Mobile marketed the T1 Phone as a product that would be 'made in America.' However, this messaging has since been toned down. The company's website now states that the phone was 'designed with American values in mind.'
Executives later informed a media outlet that the phone would be manufactured in a 'favored nation,' with final assembly taking place in Florida. O’Brien confirmed that the current model is assembled in the U.S. and indicated that future iterations may incorporate more American-made parts.
Despite these claims, industry expert Max Weinbach suggested that the T1 might actually be associated with Wingtech, which is now owned by Luxshare. Weinbach noted that the phone appears to be a modified version of the REVVL 7 Pro 5G, featuring a customized exterior and enhanced internal components.
Design Changes and Speculation
The Trump-branded smartphone has seen several redesigns since its initial announcement. Earlier models showcased different screen specifications and branding features, while the most recent design displays a more traditional vertical camera layout and an American flag emblem on the back.
Trump Mobile has not disclosed the origins of the T1's components, and the company acknowledges that the product images on its website are merely 'for illustration only.' With the final design still in flux and manufacturing details remaining unclear, speculation regarding the phone's true origins is likely to persist.
