Trump's Stark Warning to Iran

Washington: President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning that the United States will target Iranian power facilities if Iran does not completely reopen the Strait of Hormuz within the next 48 hours.

In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump declared, “If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS… the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST.”

Previously, Trump called on US allies and major global economies to take action in securing this crucial shipping lane, dismissing calls for a ceasefire amid the ongoing tensions with Iran.

He remarked, “We don’t use the Strait, the United States, we don’t need it… Europe needs it, Korea, Japan, China… so they’ll have to get involved,” emphasizing that this is a collective international obligation.

Trump characterized the task of reopening the strait as “a simple military maneuver,” while acknowledging that it would necessitate significant coordination and resources. “It’s relatively safe, but you need a lot of help… You need ships, you need volume,” he noted, criticizing NATO for lacking the courage to intervene.

He also urged Indo-Pacific allies like South Korea and Australia to take a more proactive stance, expressing astonishment at their hesitance.

Simultaneously, Trump affirmed that the US would continue its military operations despite rising international calls for de-escalation. “You don’t do a ceasefire when you’re literally obliterating the other side… We’re not looking to do that,” he stated.

Trump further asserted that Iran's military strength has been severely weakened, claiming, “They don’t have a navy, they don’t have an air force… they don’t have anti-aircraft… their leaders have all been killed at every level,” indicating that the military campaign is approaching its goals.
