Trump Issues Stark Warning to Iran Amid Rising Tensions
Trump's Aggressive Stance on Iran
In a significant escalation of rhetoric, US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, indicating that the United States is ready to deploy overwhelming military force if diplomatic efforts fail. During a crucial primetime address, Trump threatened to revert Iran to a state reminiscent of the Stone Age, emphasizing that military action would occur within the next two to three weeks if necessary. He stated, “Thanks to the progress we've made, I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America's military objectives shortly. We’re going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks,” he declared.
Despite the aggressive tone, Trump clarified that regime change was not the objective, although he acknowledged that the original leadership had changed due to previous events. He remarked, “We never said regime change, but regime change has occurred because of all of their original leader's death.”
In response to Trump's comments about returning Iran to the Stone Age, the Iranian Consulate General in Mumbai issued a strong rebuttal on social media, asserting that ancient civilizations like Iran do not need to be made 'great again' as they already possess inherent greatness.
Impact of Military Actions on Domestic Issues
During his address, Trump reiterated the necessity of military intervention to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear capabilities. He also addressed the domestic repercussions of the ongoing conflict, noting a significant rise in gasoline prices, which have surged by over 25%. He attributed this increase to the Iranian regime's aggressive actions against commercial oil tankers.
Trump urged oil-importing nations to take decisive action in securing the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that the responsibility for safeguarding this critical waterway should be a collective effort among international allies. He stated, “They should have done it before, should have done it with us, as we asked,” and encouraged them to take immediate action to protect the strait.
Additionally, he expressed appreciation for regional allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain, affirming that the US would support them unwaveringly.
