Trump's Remarks on US-Israel Objectives

On Friday, US President Donald Trump stated that both the United States and Israel are aiming for a decisive victory in the current conflict involving Iran, highlighting their shared goals. During a press conference, when questioned about Israel's willingness to conclude the war simultaneously with the US, Trump affirmed, “I think so, yes.” He elaborated, “We desire similar outcomes. Our goal? Victory. That’s what we both want.”

Trump suggested that Israel would be prepared to end hostilities whenever the US decides to do so.

Trump's Strong Stance on Iran

Trump's Comments on Iran's Leadership

Trump expressed strong criticism of Iran and its leaders, labeling them as “thugs and animals.” He remarked, “We’ve been hitting them hard. I don’t know if they could be hit harder.” He also commented on the reported executions of protesters, stating, “They executed three young people for protesting.”

Regarding military actions, Trump claimed, “We’ve decimated [Iran's] navy, air force, and anti-aircraft capabilities. From a military perspective, they’re done.” He referenced operations under “Operation Epic Fury,” describing their effects as significant.

Trump also discussed the possibility of a ceasefire, stating, “We can have dialogue, but I don’t want to pursue a ceasefire. You don’t call for a ceasefire when you’re actively defeating the other side... we’re not looking to do that.” His comments suggest a reluctance to halt military operations at this time.

Strategic Importance of the Strait of Hormuz

On the topic of the Strait of Hormuz, Trump indicated that reopening this vital waterway would necessitate collaboration with other nations, emphasizing that the task cannot be managed unilaterally. He pointed out NATO's role, stating, “NATO has not been as supportive as they should be regarding the strait, especially since they rely heavily on energy from it.”

When asked about specific plans concerning Kharg Island, Trump refrained from providing details, saying, “How could I disclose that to a reporter?... I can’t share that.”
