In a recent post on Truth Social, former US President Donald Trump asserted that there has been a "complete and total obliteration" of Iran's nuclear facilities. He referred to this operation as "Operation Midnight Hammer," stating that the destruction of the Nuclear Dust sites in Iran will make any recovery efforts lengthy and challenging.

Trump's remarks come just one day before a fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran is set to end on April 22. He also criticized media outlets, particularly CNN, for not giving adequate recognition to the efforts of US aviators, labeling them as "Fake News" and "LOSERS!!!".

Operation Midnight Hammer commenced in June 2025, marking the US's direct military involvement in a brief conflict between Israel and Iran. On June 22, US forces targeted three significant sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—utilizing bunker-buster bombs dropped by B-2 stealth bombers.

On February 28 of this year, the US and Israel initiated a new wave of attacks on Iran, escalating tensions in the Gulf region and affecting the vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil passage. Iran responded by blocking this route, prompting the US to impose a counter-blockade on Iranian ports, severely impacting oil supplies to Asia and straining Iran's economy.

After weeks of missile and drone confrontations, a two-week ceasefire was negotiated in Pakistan. As the deadline approaches, uncertainty looms over the upcoming discussions in Islamabad. The White House has sent representatives, including Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Vice President JD Vance, for the second round of talks. However, Tehran has yet to confirm its attendance. According to reports, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has approved the negotiations, and a team is expected to head to Islamabad.
