Trump Claims Responsibility for Destruction of Key Iranian Bridge Amid Escalating Tensions
Destruction of the B1 Bridge in Iran
President Donald Trump recently shared a video asserting that the B1 (Azimiyeh) Bridge in Karaj, a significant infrastructure project located west of Tehran, was destroyed following airstrikes led by the US. This bridge, which was still under construction, was intended to connect Tehran with the western city of Karaj. Iranian media hailed the 136-meter-high structure as a remarkable engineering feat in the Middle East.

According to Iran's State TV, the American-Zionist forces targeted the B1 bridge, resulting in two civilian deaths from the initial strike. A subsequent attack occurred while emergency responders were on-site to assist those affected by the first strike. Footage from the scene depicted heavy smoke and the bridge's collapse.
Trump posted images of the devastation on his Truth Social account, stating: “The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again - Much more to follow!” He cautioned that Iran should negotiate before it becomes too late.
Earlier that day, Trump declared victory regarding the US-Israeli strikes, claiming that US military actions had significantly weakened Tehran's military capabilities and that they would soon “finish the job,” with key strategic goals almost achieved. He informed the nation that US forces would intensify their actions against Iran over the next two to three weeks, reiterating threats against Iranian power plants. He remarked, “Our enemies are losing—and America, as it has been for five years under my presidency, is winning, and now, winning bigger than ever before.”
The partial destruction of the B1 bridge, recognized as the tallest in the Middle East, resulted in two fatalities and multiple injuries, underscoring the increasing intensity of US-led strikes in Iran. This attack occurs amidst rising tensions and ongoing military operations aimed at Iran’s critical infrastructure and strategic locations.
