Tensions Rise Over Alleged Drone Attacks

Washington: President Donald Trump has accused Iran of orchestrating drone strikes against Indian vessels departing from the Strait of Hormuz, labeling the actions as "completely unacceptable." Iran, however, has dismissed these allegations as "groundless."

This week, three ships with Indian crews were reportedly attacked off the coast of Oman, leading to the tragic death of three Indian sailors on Wednesday.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, "Their (Iran's) totally rebuffed drone attack last night against Indian ships leaving the Hormuz Strait is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE."

He further claimed that Iran leaked details of a peace agreement to the media, which he asserted was unrelated to the discussions at hand.

The Iranian Embassy in India responded strongly, stating, "The US president's accusation against Iran regarding an Indian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz is simply baseless."

They added, "This is an attempt to distract from the harsh reality that the US has attacked three Indian vessels in less than a week, resulting in the deaths of three innocent Indian sailors. That’s pathetic!"

Trump's comments followed India's decision to summon the US Embassy's Charge d'Affaires in New Delhi to express its concerns over the attacks on commercial ships with Indian nationals near the Oman coast.

India has characterized these attacks on commercial vessels as "deeply concerning" and has taken a firm stance in addressing the issue with the US.
