Significant Military Action in Iran

President Donald Trump has declared that U.S. forces have successfully targeted and destroyed several key objectives in Iran, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. In a message shared on Truth Social, Trump celebrated the military operation, stating, “A big day in Iran. Many long sought-after targets have been eliminated by our exceptional military, the finest in the world. God bless you all!”

While speaking to reporters on Air Force One shortly after, Trump indicated that these strikes have shifted the political dynamics in Tehran. He remarked, “We’ve experienced regime change. We’re now engaging with a different group than anyone has before. It’s a completely new situation,” and expressed optimism about reaching an agreement with Iran in the near future.

The conflict, which escalated following U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran on February 28, has now progressed into its fifth week. In response, Iran has targeted U.S. interests across Gulf nations and attempted to obstruct the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passageway responsible for transporting approximately 20% of the global oil and gas supply.

This disruption has led to a surge in global crude oil prices and raised energy security concerns, especially for major Asian economies like China and India. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused the U.S. of hypocrisy, claiming that while Washington publicly advocates for dialogue, it is simultaneously preparing for a potential ground invasion. “The enemy sends messages of negotiation while secretly planning a ground attack,” he stated in comments reported by state media, warning that Iranian forces are ready to respond decisively to any U.S. troop movements.

In recent weeks, the U.S. has bolstered its military presence in the region, intensifying speculation regarding a possible ground invasion. In a separate post on X, Ghalibaf also advised against reacting to pre-market “news” or statements, suggesting they are often designed to sway market sentiment. “If they pump it, short it. If they dump it, go long,” he advised, labeling such signals as a “setup for profit-taking.”
