Landslide Affects Train Operations in Assam

Train services connecting the Barak Valley, Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur faced interruptions on Thursday following a landslide in Assam's Dima Hasao district, as reported by a senior official.


According to Kapinjol Kishore Sharma, the Chief Public Relations Officer of the Northeast Frontier Railway, the landslide impacted train operations on the Lumding-Badarpur hill section in the evening.


The landslide occurred between the Dihakho and Mupa stations in Dima Hasao district.


Sharma stated, 'Upon receiving the information, senior railway officials have arrived at the site to commence repair work. Train traffic on the affected rail section has been halted until it is cleared.'


He further mentioned that five trains have been canceled due to the landslide, while one has been partially canceled. Additionally, the schedule of one train has been altered, and seven others have been stopped at various stations.
