Peshawar: In a tragic incident on Sunday, a police constable was fatally shot by an unknown assailant during a terrorist attack in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, according to local police reports.

Initial investigations reveal that Constable Miskeen Zada was inside a police post when a militant entered and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in his immediate death before the attacker fled the scene.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) had previously conducted operations in an attempt to apprehend him, but he managed to escape.

Data from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police indicates that 122 police officers have lost their lives in the line of duty in the first half of this year.
