Explosion During Peace Rally in Swat District
Peshawar: A devastating explosion during a peace rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday resulted in the deaths of at least seven individuals, with many others injured, according to local sources.
The incident took place while the Swat Peace Rally was underway in Kabal Town, as reported by district officials.
Preliminary information suggests that seven people have lost their lives, and 18 others are in critical condition, according to the Swat Police.
While initial assessments indicate the blast may have been a suicide attack, there has been no official confirmation as of yet.
The Swat Peace Rally was organized by the Swat Aman Jirga, a local tribal council, where participants were advocating for peace in an area that has experienced increasing security challenges in recent months.
Emergency response teams transported the injured to local hospitals, while police and law enforcement agencies secured the vicinity, officials stated.
