Tiger Woods’ Past Accidents
This incident is not the first road mishap for Woods. Back in November 2009, he crashed his vehicle into a fire hydrant near his home in Isleworth, close to Orlando. Reports indicated that his then-wife, Elin Nordegren, assisted him out of the car following the accident, which occurred early on the morning after Thanksgiving. He was taken to a hospital but was released the same day, with no charges filed against him.
In May 2017, Woods encountered another troubling situation in Palm Beach Gardens when police discovered him unconscious in his car around 3 a.m. The vehicle showed signs of damage, and subsequent tests revealed the presence of prescription drugs and marijuana in his system. He was arrested and later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, resulting in a plea deal that included a fine and a monitoring program.
In February 2021, Woods was involved in a severe accident in California where his vehicle crossed a median, struck a sign, and veered off the road. The SUV rolled down a slope and ended up on its side. Rescue teams had to extricate him from the wreckage. Authorities reported that he was driving at a high speed of 87 mph in a 45 mph zone, which contributed to the loss of control on a curve. Although he sustained significant leg injuries requiring surgery, there was no evidence of alcohol or drug use, and the incident was treated as an accident without charges filed.
