Dragon Spacecraft Undocks from ISS

On Monday, the Dragon spacecraft successfully detached from the International Space Station (ISS). Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and his crew are anticipated to make their splashdown on July 15.


Shubhanshu's father, Shambhu Dayal Shukla, expressed his joy, stating, "We are thrilled that the undocking was successful. We are hopeful for a smooth landing tomorrow. Our faith in the Almighty remains strong, and we are immensely proud of our son. The nation shares in our pride as he returns after accomplishing his mission successfully."

Asha Shukla, Shubhanshu's mother, shared her sentiments, saying, "The undocking has been executed successfully, and we are hopeful for a successful landing as well. We pray for his safe return tomorrow."


Mission Details and Crew Activities

Group Captain Shukla played a vital role in the Axiom-4 mission, participating in various scientific and technical tasks alongside international astronauts aboard the ISS.


The crew's undocking from the ISS was scheduled for July 14 at approximately 4:35 PM IST, with a splashdown expected in the Pacific Ocean near California around 3 PM IST on July 15, marking a return journey of about 22 hours.


Farewell and Inspirational Words

On Sunday, a farewell ceremony was held for the crew at the ISS, where Shubhanshu delivered an inspiring speech, quoting the famous words of Cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma: "Aaj ka Bharat abhi bhi saare jahaan se acha dikhta hai" (Today's India is still more splendid than the entire world).
